FURTHER investigation is needed to establish the cause of death of man found at a Waterside recreation ground.
Police and paramedics were called after the body of Phillip Robert Cavill was found at Gang Warily Recreation ground in Holbury on New Year's Day, an inquest heard.
Mr Cavill, 31, of Roewood Close, Holbury, was identified by his brother in law Edward Chouler.
Witnesses said one of the lakes was cordoned off and Cllr Alan Rutherford Alvey, chairman of Fawley Parish Council offered condolences to Mr Cavill's family following the discovery.
He said: "It is very sad.
"We know very little at this point.
"We would obviously like to send our condolences to the man's family."
Area Coroner Jason Pegg said a post-mortem had been held and the results of toxicology and histology tests are awaited.
Mr Pegg adjourned the inquest until June 2.
