A NORTHAM residents’ protest brought rush-hour traffic to a halt.
Southampton was brought to a standstill for 20 minutes as angry Northam residents blocked the main route into the city.
Rush-hour traffic stood motionless on January 15, 1990, at the busy Northam Road, union Road and Princes Street Junction.
About 100 local residents made their voices heard in their battle for improved crossing facilities.
