- The trial of two men accused of causing grievous bodily harm to the partner of Lucy McHugh's mother begins today.
- Wayne Grant, 28, of Byron Road, and Charlie Whitemore, 22, of Waveney Green, are on trial at Southampton Crown Court after Richard Elmes was allegedly assaulted outside Shayona News, in Windrush Road, on Sunday, July 21, last year.
- Both deny causing grievous bodily harm.
- Mr Elmes is the partner of the mother of Lucy McHugh, 13, who was murdered in Southampton by Stephen Nicholson, 25, of no fixed address, in July 2018.
