A NURSERY that was previously rated inadequate has been given a Good rating by inspectors.

Yellow Dot Town Nursery, in Eastleigh, was rated as Good in all four areas of the Ofsted inspection, including the quality of education; behaviour and attitudes; personal development; and leadership and management.

The previous Inadequate rating last May said the manager is new in post and knows the areas that need developing.

It added that she has an action plan in place, but that it was not being addressed quickly enough to have an impact on the current provision for children.

But the nursery’s most recent inspection said: “Since the last inspection, the quality of children’s care and learning has significantly improved. The new nursery manager has worked hard to meet actions and recommendations raised at the inspection.”

It also says that children are happy and settled, and form close emotional relationships with their key persons. They said the staff work closely with parents to support children’s care and good health, including children with Special Educational Needs and Disability.

Children also have plenty of time to play outdoors and develop physical skills, according to inspectors.

They added that managers have introduced robust systems to ensure children’s individual dietary needs and allergies are adhered to.

Nursery manager Megan Windridge said: “We are delighted to read so many positive comments about all aspects of the nursery in this positive Ofsted report.”
