AN ELDERLY woman who was killed in a crash with a lorry has been named by police.

Margaret Fraser, 89, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in Station Road, New Milton, on Monday afternoon.

The incident, involving pedestrian Ms Fraser, of Waverley Road, New Milton, and a Travis Perkins DAF lorry took place just after 1pm.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Floral tributes have been left at the scene of the fatal town centre crash.

Bunches of flowers have been placed by the pedestrian crossing.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident.

On Tuesday, a 57-year-old man from New Milton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving in relation to the incident.

He was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
