SOUTHAMPTON residents can climb to new heights at an "exhilarating" activity centre.

The centre in Ocean Village features climbing walls, laser tag, a trampoline and ninja park, as well as arts and cooking classes.

City mayor Peter Baillie and MP Alan Whitehead were given the chance to try out the latest offerings during a recent visit.

Both politicians scaled the centre's seven-metre high climbing walls.

Mayor Baillie said: “It was such brilliant fun and a real adrenaline buzz. The InJoy team were really helpful and professional and gave me real confidence. I think I tried everything! It’s the most wonderful place for people of all ages.”

Right behind him was MP Alan Whitehead. He said: “It was totally exhilarating! What a great asset and a draw for the city. It’s proving to be a hugely popular venue.”

Southampton’s InJoy manager Meredith Donnelly said: “We’re hugely excited by the reaction we’ve had here since our launch - with adventure-seekers visiting us from across the region.”

Meredith added: “Alongside our regular activities, we have already hosted a number of events at Injoy, including student nights, business ‘away days’, birthday parties, baby showers and gender reveals. We also run fitness classes for adults and have meeting rooms for hire.”
