A VERY different looking area - one that's changing from day-to-day with the building of a new Lidl supermarket
These were the days when the junction of The Avenue and Banister Road, Southampton was utilised for car sales.
This photograph shows the Bournemouth Imperial Motors showroom at Austin House.
The forecourt is packed with motorcycles, many with side cars, and to the right cars are lined up waiting for buyers. On the left of the picture, thought to have been taken in the 1930s, a sign can be seen showing the way to the old Stadium.
