It is not the sort of scene you see every day in Hedge End but back in June 1978 the Warbonnet Red Indian dancing troupe was visiting the south.
All aged between 13 and 15, the American youngsters who wore the brightly-coloured feathers and hand-made beads took their name from the impressive head-dress worn by native Americans.
During their visit the dancers performed in front of audiences at Southampton Guildhall as well as Botleigh Grange Hotel.
