A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was ordered to send a "letter of apology" to the woman that he assaulted in Gosport.
The youngster pushed a woman to the ground as she crossed Grove Road in Gosport on Tuesday January 28.
After being identified by police, the incident was dealt with by "community resolution" after they boy responsible agreed to send the victim a written letter of apology.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "A woman was pushed to the floor as she crossed the road at around 6.40pm on Tuesday January 28.
"This was investigated by the Gosport Neighbourhood Police Team who identified the boy responsible for this assault. He is a 14-year-old from the Gosport area.
"Following consultation with the victim, this was dealt with by means of a community resolution. We have spoken with the boy responsible and he has written a letter of apology to the victim."
This comes as last week officers put out a public appeal, following the incident, asking any witnesses with information to come forward to help the investigation.
As previously reported in the Echo, the woman was approached by a group of youths on Grove Road, and as she began to cross she was pushed over.
