A CHARITY wrestling tournament with a WWE star guest is to be held to raise money for a Southampton cause.

Charity Wrestling Promotion (CWP) is hosting a charity tournament to raise funds for Dylan's Quest.

WWE star Sid Scala is set to attend and open the tournament with a singles match at Oasis Hub on March 8.

The tournament is to raise money for Dylan's Quest.

Dylan Vanhear was an 11-year-old Southampton schoolboy.

In May 2015, Dylan developed a limp and after numerous GP appointments it was discovered that he had ependymomas - tumours that arises from the ependyma - on his spinal cord.

After a seven and a half hour operation to partially remove the tumours, Dylan was left paraplegic and wheelchair bound.

Sadly, Dylan passed away in September 2016, a week after his 13th birthday.

While in hospital, Dylan asked his parents to set up a charity to help families with children who have life-threatening illnesses.

During his prolonged stay in hospital, Dylan was able to raise £10,000 for Southampton's Children Hospital.

Speaking about the event, Robbie Nitro, the owner of CWP, said: "We try to cover all the costs and then any profit we make goes to the charity we are supporting.

"I hoping this event will do really well.

"The Oasis Hub have been a dream for us as they donate everything to us for free."

Robbie, 37, from Lordshill, has been wrestling on and off for 15 years.

He set up CWP to "give back to the community" and providing family-friendly events that raise money for local causes.

He added: "Wrestling has been a passion since I was a kid.

"I moved to Southampton six years ago and I missed not being in the ring, it felt like something was missing.

"I set up CWP because there were lots of local guys we could use and I wanted to give back.

"I am so passionate about it I just wanted to give back.

"I know it's not much, but I wanted to do my bit."
