WHEN Netley’s Royal Victoria Hospital turned out in the Southampton District Football League in the late 1940s, they were renowned as a hard team to beat.
This 1947/1948 side included the prolific goal scorer, Reg Davies,on the extreme right of the middle row, who played for the military hospital while undertaking his national service with the medical corps.
