A SOUTHAMPTON man has been jailed after he assaulted two people and stole designer coats.
Robert James Boyt stole a total of four coats from John Lewis in Westquay.
On February 6 he stole two Hugo Boss coats to the value of £438 and on February 7 he stole another two Hugo Boss coats of the same value.
The 30-year-old also assaulted a woman and a man at Pennington in Hampshire on February 4.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to two accounts of theft and two accounts of assault by beating.
Boyt, of Westridge Road, Portswood, Southampton, was committed to prison for eight weeks and was ordered to pay £438 in compensation.
