Sport Relief is calling on the people of Southampton to get their kit on this weekend and head over to Flip Out for a special fundraising day tomorrow. (Saturday, February 22)

Flip Out on School Lane, Chandler's Ford, will be donating 50 per cent of its profits today to Sport Relief to help tackle issues such as mental health stigma, domestic abuse, homelessness and child poverty.

One of the projects that benefits from money raised by Sport Relief is a leading disability support charity, Leonard Cheshire.

Leonard Cheshire runs the Can Do Project in Southampton which is aiming to work with around 220 disadvantaged and disabled young people aged between 10-20 years old to help them participate in community-based social action activities.

Funding from Comic Relief and the #iWill fund means these activities build their confidence, increase their skillsets and improve networks between them and their communities and peers.

Pete Donnelly, Can Do Programme Manager, said: “Comic Relief funding is absolutely vital to our Can Do project in Southampton.

"I’ve seen first-hand how the project helps young people stay healthy and active, and also boosts their confidence and enhances their skills.

"This project brings young disabled people together and gives back to the community, helping to break down barriers and social isolation that many young disabled people face.”

Flip Out has 16 Olympic trampolines along with a drop slide, two foam pits and a tumble track, and younger children can also enjoy the kid’s area.

Those taking part will be helping to create a better future for people living incredibly tough lives, in the UK and around the world by donating to the cause.

Ryan Wootton, general manager of Flip Out, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting a Sport Relief Day here at Flip Out.

"We’d love the people of Southampton to come together for the cause, whilst having good fun – with 50% of profits going straight to Sport Relief. This money will help support organisations across the UK, including right here in Southampton.”
