HAMPSHIRE motorists are being warned of plans for traffic restrictions across the county.

The new traffic restrictions would affect roads in Bishopstoke, Fair Oak and Horton Heath. It is hoped the work will reduce danger to motorists and pedestrians, improve traffic flow and amenities.

According to Eastleigh Borough Council, the restrictions will take six weeks to be implemented.

The council proposes to introduce “No waiting at any time” restrictions in the following roads: Bodmin Road, Cotton Close, East Drive, Fair Oak Road, Hamilton Road, Sedgwick Road, Shears Road and Underwood Road.

Proposals have been made to introduce an additional “No waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 9am and 3 to 4pm” restriction in Underwood Road.

Meanwhile, the council plans other restrictions across Hedge End, West End and Botley, which is expected to be completed in early May if it is approved by committee on March 30.

It plans to remove an experimental traffic regulation in Upper St Helens Road, Hedge End.

This would involve removing “No waiting at any time” restrictions on the south side of Upper St Helens Road between Lyons Place and Stockholm Drive.

The “No waiting Monday to Friday 10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm” restrictions on the south side of Upper St Helens Road would also be removed.

The council is proposing “No waiting at any time” restrictions in Heath House Close; Heath House Lane; Lyons Place; Stockholm Drive; Upper St Helens Road.

As previously reported, plans for a £2.5m project to tackle a major traffic bottleneck at Junction 7 of the M27 have been unveiled. New traffic lights expected to regulate traffic flow are also set to be installed at the junction of Thornhill Park Road and Hinkler Road.
