A CHARITY Netball match is taking place in Eastleigh this weekend - and it will feature two England Roses.

Weston Park Blades netball club are hosting the event at Places Leisure in Eastleigh this Sunday, as part of its annual plan to raise money for the YoYo charity, who support young netballers in Uganda.

The showcase match will be against fellow England Netball National Premier League Division One side, Hucclecote, and England Roses Yaz Parsons and Fran Williams will feature in the home team squad.

This annual event attracts hundreds of people, last year raising almost £3,000 for the charity, and this year it's expected that more than 500 people will attend.

Head Coach Jan Crabtree, said: "Our annual Charity Showcase Match is a fabulous opportunity for netball fans to see Elite Netball on their Doorstep with Superleague players and England Roses competing at the highest level of amateur netball in the country.

"Last year's event was a great success raising nearly £3,000 to help give young Ugandan netballers an education and the whole squad are excited to once again be performing in front of a sell-out crowd at Places Leisure Eastleigh.

There will be an opportunity to meet and mingle with players after the match and all profits from the event will go towards the charity.

Tickets to the event on Sunday March 8 are £6 each, with doors opening at 10am and the match beginning at 11am.

All tickets must be purchased in advance, which can be found at the club's website: westonparkblades.co.uk.
