They were some of the millions of volunteers that played a crucial part in the war effort.
These are members of Southampton Corporation Tramways and Motor Services department who all served in the Home Guard during the Second World War.
The photograph was taken at Kent Road in St Denys, Southampton, where the detachment carried out the majority of their wartime training.
