It is disappointing but not surprising that the Conservatives are set to waste £8 million on improving traffic flows around a few roundabouts at the southern end of the A326.
Of course, in typical fashion, they didn't consult anyone before announcing this decision, let alone county councillors for Hythe & Dibden, Totton & Marchwood.
It seems pretty obvious that the plans achieve nothing at all for sorting out congestion further along the A326, where the road becomes single carriageway and things become very congested, with serious air quality issues in Totton.
At the same time as committing this howler, the Conservatives on Hampshire County Council are still resisting the growing campaign to reinstate the passenger service along the Waterside railway line, with all the necessary infrastructure in place, the local parish councils behind it and the need to reduce car use and emissions... unbelievable!
