A 27-year-old man was left unconscious following an assault in a Fareham restaurant.

At around 1.10am on Sunday March 8, an incident took place inside the Slug and Lettuce restaurant in West Street in Fareham, involving a man punching another man in the head and knocking him unconscious.

The victim sustained a swollen lip and bruising to the head, before being treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Now officers are appealing for information and have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection to the incident.

The offender is described as being white, around 5ft 9ins tall, having brown eyes and wearing a grey hooded top and jeans.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "We’ve released CCTV images of a man we would like to speak to following an assault in Fareham. It took place at Slug and Lettuce in West Street at around 1.10am on Sunday 8 March.
