DESPITE the grand opening of the One Community "pop-up shop" being a success, the use of the shop is being postponed until further notice due to the coronavirus.
As previously reported, the pop-up shop officially opened in Eastleigh's Swan Centre on Monday March 16, after the ribbon was cut by Deputy Mayor Cllr Cynthia Garton.
The shop, located between Boots and the Card Factory, is designed to act as a as a space where local community groups and organisations can use to showcase their services, run an activity, host a meeting or simply attract more members.
However, after the launch of the event, One Community have decided to postpone the use of the shop until further notice after following the governments advice to practise social distancing.
A One Community Spokesperson said: "Sorry to say that after a really successful launch, the pop-up shop will be on hold until a re-launch after the virus."
The re-launch of the shop is currently unconfirmed, and to get more information about booking slots at the shop, contact the voluntary sector support team on 02380902458 or jroberts-jones@1community.org.uk.
