Venture Scouts from Northam on sponsored rickshaw ride - 1977
IT IS July 1977 and ten Venture Scouts from Southampton’s 25th Northam Group set off to pedal their way around the Isle of Wight on a sponsored charity ride.
The plan was to take it in turns on a cycle rickshaw, but the bike turned out to be jinxed as it suffered from several punctures.
However, the Scouts were still able to raise plenty of money for Oxfam.
