A 64-YEAR-old man died after he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
Terence Wheeler, of Aspen Walk, Totton, was told that he had mesothelioma - usually caused by exposure to asbestos.
As his condition began to worsen he was taken to Lymington Hospital on February 21 but was admitted to Oak Haven Hospice, Lymington on February 25.
Senior coroner Christopher Wilkinson was told during an inquest opening into the death that Mr Wheeler died on March 10.
A cause of death has been given as malignant epithelioid mesothelioma.
A full inquest will take place at Winchester Coroner's Court on June 3.
