Join us on another trip back through time as we take a look at pictures from March 1990.
Basketball was the sporting flavour of the month as Daily Echo pictures snapped the teams of Southampton College and Barton Peveril.
One image shows the opening of Romsey Rapids sports complex opening. The fast-flowing water has since been an attraction for swimmers from all around.
While the events in these images were taking place locally, this is what was happening further afield:
March 9
Rioting in Brixton, London, led to 37 people being arrested and 10 police officers injured. The demo was against the new Poll Tax.
March 13
A six month dispute ended when ambulance crews were given a 17.6 per cent pay rise.
March 23
The Duke and Duchess of York's second daughter, Princess Eugenie of York, was born.
March 31
The largest Poll Tax protest took place in London with around 200,000 demonstrators taking part.
