POLICE have warned Hampshire residents of a fraud incident.
Police say a male going by the name of "John Mason" has called a resident claiming to be from the "Fraud Squad".
The male, John, has then explained to the victim that their bank account was in danger and that he needed the bank details.
On this occasion, the victim has obliged and passed over banking details.
Police said a few hours later a motorbike turned up and a male has taken the victim's credit card and bank statements.
Subsequently, the victim's card has been used in various locations.
Police advice includes; never accept offers over the phone “if they sound too good to be true, they usually are” and never give personal details over the phone.
