OFFICERS investigating an incident where a man claiming to have coronavirus coughed and spat at police have charged a man.
Scott Sleet, 42, of Dursley Crescent, Portsmouth, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
It comes following an incident at 10.10pm on Saturday where a man, who claimed to have coronavirus, coughed at and spat on police officers.
Sleet appeared at Portsmouth magistrates Court this morning and was bailed with conditions to appear next in court on May 12.
The officer involved is being supported by Hampshire Police.
