A FURTHER 18 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in Hampshire.

Figures released by the NHS today revealed that another 18 coronavirus patients died in the county in the previous 24 hours.

It brings the total number of deaths to 254.

The figures cover the University Hospital Southampton (UHS), Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

At UHS, 63 people who were diagnosed with the virus have died, however, there have been no deaths since yesterday.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust has recorded a total of six deaths, a rise of two since Saturday.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, has now recorded a total of 120 deaths.

This is a rise of 11 from 109 yesterday.

A total of 65 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with five deaths since Sunday.

The trust handles Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Alton Community Hospital.

Meanwhile, a further 667 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 10,261.

Patients were aged between 17 and 101-years old.

A total of 40 of the 667 patients (aged between 37 and 98-years-old) had no known underlying health condition.
