TRIBUTES have been paid to an "inspiring" Southampton nurse, who died after testing positive for coronavirus.
Hospital bosses have paid tribute to Katy Davis, 38, working in child health as a nurse at University Hospital Southampton.
Katy had underlying health condition and had been unwell for some time prior to her admission.
She tested positive for the virus on admission to hospital.
Katy passed away on the evening of Tuesday, April 21.
Paula Head, chief executive at UHS, said: βI want to pay tribute to Katy who sadly passed away on Tuesday. Katy has been described by her colleagues where she worked in child health as a nurse people would aspire to be like and that nursing was more than just a job to her.
βOn behalf of everyone here at UHS, including our patients and the communities we serve, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to her family.β
