Southampton Central Fire Station - 1949
EVEN Popeye turned up at this children’s party held at Southampton’s central fire station in January, 1949.
The youngsters, who are sons and daughters of local firemen, tucked into a tea of jelly and cake and there was also a visit by the mayor, Councillor F Dibben.
