A MAN has been rescued after getting stuck on a rock in water off Marchwood.
In a race against the tide, firefighters from Totton Fire Station scrambled to help the man stranded near Magazine Lane.
He had been unable to climb back up a "slippery wall" and on to the shoreline.
Firefighters used a ladder to help him clamber back ashore during the incident which happened at around 3pm on Wednesday.
The man did not need medical treatment and the stop message came in at 3.34pm.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services said: "A crew from Totton were called at 3pm to Magazine Lane in Marchwood as a male was stuck.
"The male was stuck on stable ground, however, the tide was coming in and he was unable to climb back up the wall as it was slippery.
"The male was recovered to hard-standing ground using a short extension ladder.
"The stop message came in at 3.34pm."
