MORE than 600 patients with coronavirus have been discharged from hospital in Hampshire.

Figures from hospital Trusts across Hampshire have revealed that 626 people who tested positive for coronavirus have since been released from hospital.

The figures are for those patients who have been successfully treated and discharged home by the Trusts.

The figures, from University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHNFT), cover those who have been successfully treated and discharged home.

It was revealed that the UHS have treated and sent home 348 patients who were tested positive for coronavirus as of last night at 5pm.

HHNFT have reported that as of 9am Wednesday, 278 people who were tested positive with coronavirus have now been discharged.

The trust handles Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Alton Community Hospital.

The Daily Echo contacted Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust regarding their recovery figures, but they did not respond.

It comes as the official figure of deaths in Hampshire raised to 475 yesterday.

Figures released by the NHS show that 475 people across Hampshire have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

Statistics cover University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

At UHS, 144 people have died who tested positive for the virus, up by two deaths in 24 hours as of Thursday.

While 127 people have lost their lives at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, up by two in 24 hours.

At Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, 189 people have died after contracting the virus, up by one since yesterday.

A total of 15 people have died at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, with no rise in the last 24 hours.
