A SOUTHAMPTON man has been charged following an assault on a key worker.
Andrew Lang, 56, of Nichols Road, Southampton has been charged with common assault after a Co-op shop assistant was assaulted.
It comes following an incident at the Co-op in Blechynden Terrace in Southampton between 7.25pm and 7.45pm on Monday, 4 May.
Lang has been bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 30 June.
A police spokesperson said: "We continue to tackle crime during these challenging times and we will not tolerate any abuse directed at our keyworkers.
"Anyone who commits this type of offence can expect to be dealt with robustly."
