KFC lovers queued for over an hour to get their fast food fix after the chicken franchise opened drive-thru lanes in Basingstoke.

BBC Breakfast, MailOnline and other nationals picked up on the Gazette's video that went viral on Twitter and showed dozens upon dozens of people flocking to the store for a quick bite to eat.

The takeaway chain in Euskirchen Way saw a bottleneck of cars winding onto the dual carriageway.

KFC was also serving food for delivery services such as UberEats and Deliveroo.

A KFC spokesman said in a statement to the Gazette: "KFC Basingstoke Leisure Park has reopened.

"Delivery remains the best way to get your fried chicken fix – however we are offering drive thru, to give a little more choice to those who are already on the road for essential journeys or on their way home from difficult shifts.”
