IT’S A sad day for the trees at Marlhill Copse and the people of Southampton as the go ahead is given to destroy trees.
The Labour controlling group passed the decision as to whether the trees should be felled to a tree inspector.
This is in conflict to their previous statement that the decision would be taken democratically by the planning committee.
Some 4000 people signed a petition objecting to the unnecessary destruction of trees in this copse.
It’s sad to see even the Labour group is not respecting democracy and being influenced by some the dictatorship attitudes of the current government.
The Green Party cares about nature, our environment and our planet for the benefit of all life.
We would not have let this happen had we been in power. It is time for change.
