A MAN has been charged following a string of shed burglaries in Eastleigh.

Joshua Taylor, 23, of no fixed address has been charged with burglary with intent to steal, attempted burglary and going equipped for theft.

This comes after a number of power tools were stolen from a shed in Witt Road, Eastleigh in the early hours of Saturday May 9.

Then, it was reported that around that time, between 2.45am and 3.30am, attempts were made to break in to sheds in Spring Close and Summerlands Road in Fair Oak.

The 23-year-old has been remanded in custody and was due to appear in front of Southampton Magistrates Court this morning.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "Good morning, we have an update for you on a man who has been charged over the weekend as part of our ongoing pro-active investigations into burglaries in the area. Joshua Taylor, 23, of no fixed abode, has been charged with burglary, burglary with intent to steal, attempted burglary and going equipped for theft.

"Mr Taylor has been remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (May 11).

"Thank you to everyone who has provided us with information and reported incidents to us, we will continue to use the various methods of investigation available to us to follow these up."
