Congratulations on the VE commemorative souvenir Victory, which you and your Newsquest sister papers have just published.
Any of your readers who have not yet bought a copy are missing a treat. Like it or loathe it, our part of the country has always been at the sharp end of war - whether as militia in the Napoleonic Wars, or troops en transit to the Continent in WWI. It is deep-grained in our local history.
Whatever else, Victory has achieved, it shows how very important our newspaper archives are for telling the story of our past.
