A HAMPSHIRE festival which usually brings in more than 30,000 festival-goers has been cancelled.

Organisers of Victorious Festival, which was due to take place at Southsea from August 28 to 30, today announced that the event will no longer be going ahead as planned.

They wrote: "Working closely with the relevant authorities we have come to the conclusion that this is the only safe and viable option.

"We know this will be a huge disappointment to everyone who is part of our festival family, including performers, traders, contractors, suppliers and you, the festival-goers, but we will be working harder than ever and will return even stronger on August bank holiday 2021 at our beautiful seafront location."

All ticket holders will be refunded or can choose to carry their ticket over to 2021, when the event is expected to go ahead.
