PARTY-GOERS fled after police broke up their rave.

Around 25 people flocked to a field near Lordswood on Saturday night.

After receiving reports of loud music and disco lighting police rushed to the incident north of the Lordswood area of Southampton at around midnight.

The group fled into the night with officers seizing sound systems, speakers, a petrol generator as well as personal items left at the scene.

According to police, no arrests have been made.

A police spokesperson said: "We want to thank the community for calling this into us so that we were able to respond swiftly.

"Although people are now allowed to spend a lot more time outdoors, Government restrictions still apply and it is disappointing this group of people ignored the guidance and put themselves and others at risk infection during the current crisis.

"We know the majority of people in Southampton want to follow the guidance to keep themselves and their families safe.

"This shows you are the eyes and ears in your community. Thank you to those who phoned us about this gathering being organised."

As previously reported "disgusting" party-goers have been accused of putting NHS staff at risk after attending a party in Mercury Close, Lordshill.

Up to "40 people" attended the party - smashing bottles, breaking wooden pallets to make fires and playing loud music until the early hours of April 26.

Police eventually shut down the party however many residents complained of noise and loud singing.
