A MAN has pleaded guilty to a string of shed burglaries in Eastleigh.

Joshua Taylor, 23, of no fixed abode, appeared before Southampton Magistrates Court on May 12, after being charged with burglary with intent to steal, attempted burglary and going equipped for theft, following a series of incidents in Eastleigh and Fair Oak.

The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing power tools from a shed in Witt Road, Eastleigh on Saturday May 9, and on the same day attempting to break into sheds in Spring Close and Summerlands Road, Fair Oak.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "Joshua Taylor, 23, of no fixed abode, has since pleaded guilty to burglary, burglary with intent to steal, attempted burglary and going equipped for theft at Southampton Magistrates Court on May 12.

"Taylor pleaded guilty to stealing power tools from a shed in Witt Road, Eastleigh, in the early hours of Saturday 9 May, and at around the same time between 2.45am and 3.30am, attempting to break into sheds in Spring Close and Summerlands Road, Fair Oak.

"As ever, we’d like to thank residents in Eastleigh and Fair Oak for coming forward, reporting these crimes to us and supporting our investigations. Without your cooperation, we are not able to take action like this."

Taylor is being remanded in custody and is due to appear in front of Southampton Magistrates Court again on June 1.
