TWO men assaulted a man in Gosport, before stealing his bag and wallet, police say.

An appeal has been launched after a 27-year-old man sustained a minor head injury after he was assualted and robbed of his bag and wallet and his bank card.

The incident took place on Rambler Drive in Gosport between 8.10pm and 8.20pm on Friday May 22.

Two men were said to approach the 27-year-old, and now officers are appealing for information and urge anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

One of the men was described as being white, aged between 20-30 years-old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, slim with short black hair and wearing a zip up, waist length leather jacket.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "The incident happened on Friday May 22 in Rambler Drive, Gosport.

"A 27-year-old man was approached by two men who assaulted him before stealing his bag and wallet which contained a number of cards including a bank card. The victim sustained a minor head injury during the assault.

"Were you in the area around this time? Did you see two men acting suspiciously or did you hear anything? Do you have any private CCTV that may have captured something in the area?
