A MAN who spat at police and damaged a cell and police station front desk has been handed a suspended sentence.
Adrian Bajena, 29, caused damaged to the front counter at Southampton Central Police Station on May 7.
He then spat at a police officer before causing damage to a cell at the station.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of using threatening and abusive language and behaviour, and two counts of causing damage to property while being reckless.
Bajena, of not fixed address, was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months and was fined £300 compensation.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128 and court costs of £85.
