A "SUSPICIOUS MAN" has been spotted taking photos of children in a Southampton park.
A man was seen photographing youngsters on Freemantle Common.
When confronted by parents he deleted his photos during the incident at around 6.30pm on Monday.
Inspector Sarah Nicholson said: "We understand that this type of incident will cause concern in the community, particularly to those that attend the park with their children.
“Please be reassured that we are investigating this report and are looking to identify the man to establish the full circumstances.
“Officers will be patrolling the area and speaking to people. If you have any concerns or any information, do not hesitate to approach us.”
A police spokesperson added: "We can confirm we received a report of a suspicious incident which took place in Freemantle Common yesterday (May 25).
"It was reported that at around 6.30pm, a man was seen taking photographs of children in the park.
"When challenged, he deleted the photos."
