A HAMPSHIRE care home has achieved an "outstanding" rating from watchdogs.

Broadview Care Home in Fareham has been rated as Outstanding in its recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report.

The inspection at the Voyage care home took place in March this year with the report commenting on the "excellent support, care and kindness" that the team provided.

Broadview is home to six people aged 22-67 with a range of needs from autism to mental health.

The home has its own chickens and residents are encouraged o decorate their room to their tastes, grow their own vegetables and take part in community activities.

Alison Murray, care home manager, said: "I was so happy when I heard and was straight on the phone to the team to let them know the great news.

“We have an extremely dedicated team who love what they do and the people we support.

"We work hard but everyday is a reward to see how much the individuals here can succeed and achieve.

"This rating is really just the cherry on top of an already very sweet service.”

She added: "With the current pandemic, its been incredibly important that we keep everybody busy, happy and safe through fun activities like our weekly garden keep fit classes.

“We also have our bingo and quiz nights, plus the very popular zen nights which encourage everybody to take some time out and have fun.”
