THE A337 was closed in both directions due to a serious two-vehicle crash.
Police are in attendance at Romsey Road dealing with the incident following the collision at around 2.30pm yesterday.
The crash involved a Land Rover Discovery and a Honda Jazz.
Firefighters from Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst stations were called to scene.
The road, which runs from Lyndhurst towards Cadnam and the M27, was closed between Mill Lane and the A35 High Street.

Motorists were being urged to avoid the area, with long delays on Bournemouth Road heading into Lyndhurst centre.
Traffic reports showed delays back on the A337 towards Clay Hill and along the A35 Bournemouth Road.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said yesterday: "We are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on the A337 between Lyndhurst and Batley.
"The incident occurred at around 2.30pm this afternoon near the New Forest Hunt Club and Kennels on Romsey Road.
"Two vehicles were involved in the collision and officers are currently on scene.
"Road closures are in place and the public are advised to avoid the area at this time.
"If anyone was travelling in the vicinity around the time and witnessed the incident or if they have dash cam footage, please get in touch by calling 101 and quoting reference 44200217682."
