A POPULAR cycling and walking route has been repaired.
The Hamble Rail Trail has been revamped.
It links Hamble-le-Rice to the Royal Victoria Country Park and runs along a disused railway track.
Funds of £3,095 were used to repair around 200m of fencing and for 40 tonnes of gravel.
The work was completed between June 1 and June 4 this year with money coming from the Eastleigh Borough Council revenue budget.
According to the council, the track is an important link for cyclists and reduces the number of motorists on Hamble Lane.
The work was done because the 4.5-mile track was previously "unusable".
