A DOG in 'distress' has been rescued off the Hampshire coast.
A coastguard rescue team scrambled to rescue a dog in water off Monks Hill Beach, Gosport.
The dog had got into trouble around 350m out to sea "swimming towards the Isle of Wight".
Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team arrived on the scene at around 8.30am today.
However, the dog was already safely ashore having been helped by a paddleboarder.
