POLICE have raided a Southampton home as part of a firearms and drugs probe.

Police are carrying out investigations at a home in Bond Road, Bitterne Park.

The bomb disposal unit is also currently in the area. 

One resident told the Daily Echo at the scene that at least 14 officers some armed with tasers lined up outside the house at around 6.30pm last night.

A witness reported seeing two police vans, five cars, and an unmarked police car in the area at the time.

Police remain at the address today carrying out enquiries.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine, as well as firearms charges.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing firearms and ammunition.

Both men are from Southampton and remain in police custody at this time.
