A TEEN has been arrested after allegedly abusing and assaulting a Southampton shop worker.

It comes following an attack at Central Convenience Store on Palmerston Road between 7.45pm and 8.05pm on Tuesday, June 23.

Two men entered the shop and abused a shop-worker before one of them attacked him.

An 18-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of assault, using threatening or abusive words and behaviour.

The man from Southampton remains in police custody at this time.

"Officers continue to patrol the area to engage with the community and keep people safe. If you have any concerns please come and speak to us."
