A HAMPSHIRE road will be closed this evening following an incident in which a car transporter left the carriageway and plunged down an embankment.
The eastbound carriageway of the A31 between Ringwood and Cadnam will be shut to enable the transporter to be recovered.
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the A31 near Stoney Cross at around 10.13am today after the vehicle left the road.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: "A lorry left the carriageway after it had jack-knifed, resulting in the vehicle being located at the bottom of the bank. One person received minor injuries."
The accident resulted in huge tailbacks building up on the A31 and nearby roads.
