STARTING today, Eastleigh residents can get their fast food fix, as Uber Eats launches in the borough.

The popular app will allow customers to get their next meal delivered directly to their door at the touch of a button, beginning with KFC on Eastleigh High Steet.

In the coming weeks, local favourites in Eastleigh will be joining the platform, with residents able to enjoy their restaurant meals from the comfort and safety of their home.

Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager of Uber Eats in the UK, said: "We are really excited to be launching in Eastleigh, firstly with KFC, and a host of local restaurants joining in the coming weeks.

"As the nation’s lockdown slowly beings to lift, we hope to make it even easier for local residents to enjoy a variety of delicious food both comfortably and safely."

This means local restaurants can use the Uber Eats app to attract more business with more options for delivery and thousands of potential new customers.

Due to the coronavirus lockdown, Uber Eats has introduced measures to help ensure that every courier can access the PPE they need for free to help keep them safe when they deliver with Uber Eats.

Free sanitising products are provided, along with more than one million masks.

The app is available every day of the week from 8:00am-midnight but restaurant opening times may vary.
