ITEMS have been seized after warrants were carried out at two properties in Downton.

Officers from the Salisbury Community Policing Team response and neighbourhood units were assisted by officers from the Specialist Operations Unit to conduct warrants at addresses in Moot Lane and Roman Meadow, in Downton, this morning.

Items were seized, but at this stage no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

PC Rachel Gunn said: “We know that people living in the area will have noticed police activity and we don’t want them to be alarmed.

“This was a piece of proactive work, jointly by the various teams, to tackle ongoing issues in the area.

“We would like to encourage people to have confidence in reporting matters to police – we need you to talk to us about any issues in your communities, so we can proactively target potential criminals and help keep your neighbourhood safe.”
