ABOUT 100 people attended an unlicensed music event on Southampton Common.
Hampshire police have confirmed that officers went to the scene at around 7pm yesterday after receiving reports that a small organised music event was taking place.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers were deployed to monitor the event and to prevent a breach of the peace.
"On arrival there were approximately 100 people present with a professional sound system. Officers engaged with those present and other members of the public on the common.
"No tensions were reported and the decision was made to facilitate the event to prevent any public order offences.
"The event finished at around 11pm and officers remained to ensure everyone dispersed from the area."
